Latvia becomes fifth country saying Scotland will need a full EU accession process

Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics has told the BBC that an independent Scotland would be considered a “new country” and would have to go through the full EU accession process. The BBC reports that Latvia has now become the fifth country, including the UK, to suggest Scotland would need to apply for membership of the EU.
