"AV in May - Is it really Fair play?"
Nick Clegg plans the referendum for next May 2011 when it will clash with General Elections in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland raising fears that it will distort the debates. Clegg claims double voting is "no problem" ignoring the "double debate distortion".
I was in San Francisco last summer debating referendums at a World Conference with 300 delegates from 6 continents.
My speech besides explaining AV touched on the Conservatives new Citizens initiative and MP recalls plus the UK Electoral Commission's 180 degree policy reversal permitting the May date.

In Ecuador in 2008 just after their referendum said YES to a new constitution.
After a lifetime in business, I chaired the YES campaign in the 1997 referendum creating the Scottish Parliament an experience that led to other referendums.
